SYDNEY - FREE hands-on workshops at the Easter Show - happening again in 2011, we hope!
DUE TO A KNEE INJURY, and an inability to walk and stand for long periods of time, I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING THE EASTER SHOW IN 2010. I'll leave the following details for you to see, however, as ... all being well ... we'll run a similar program at the show next year (2011). Hopefully see you again then ... Anne.

Thursday 8 and Friday 9 April - TRADITIONAL SILK PAINTING - resist skills that originated in Southern France over 500 years ago !!! Sit with us and enjoy this beautiful skills in the demonstration area (Arts Pavilion) during the show. Take home a completed work of art. This is a FREE workshop, sponsored by Anne and Alan Mitchell from Genesis Creations.
FOUR SESSIONS each day: 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm

Watch our demonstrations of a variety of silk painting techniques at our stand during these two days. You'll find us next to the Information booth in the Arts Pavilion.
Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 April - FABRIC DESIGNING - watch our demonstrations each day, and join in our Fabric Marbling Workshops at 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm each day. Eash prac session lasts for 1 hour. You'll take your turn to colour socks (for a small fee), or create hand-coloured papers for free
Monday 12 till Wednesday 14 April - design a SILK SCARF - FREE Workshop. This popular workshop is now in its sixth year at the 'Royal Easter'! Booking is essential, with limited numbers for each session. Thu 15 April - "Fabulous Fabrics" - Learn the basics of fabric desiging ('dyeing') in this 'tips of the icebergs' hands-on workshop, using our unique Liquid Radiance colouring system - non-toxic and non-polluting - no complicated chemicals! Simply add water and you're ready to work !!!
Fri 16 April - "Fabulous Fabrics;Beyind the Basics" - 10 am till 4 pm - we'll explore further a bunch of advanced skills, from traditional batik (with non-toxic soy wax), discharge dyeing, spray painting skills, and a whole lot more.
Sat 17 and Sun 18 April - "Fabulous Fabrics" Two-Day Program - 10 am till 4 pm each day
We'll learn the basics and a whole lot more in this very comprehensive workshop ... a continuous program in which you will explore a range of techniques and ideas on both fabrics and ready-made garments.

Tue 20 April - "Fabulous Fabrics" - 10 am till 4 pm
This workshop will cover the basics of fabric designing using Liquid Radiance, our own exclusive 'colouring system' for all fabrics from silk and cotton and other natural fibres to synthetics and blends. Create amazing patterns and effects so simply and safely you won't believe it!
Tue 20 Evening - "Sensational Silk" - 6.30 till 10 pm
Learn traditional silk painting skills that can be traced to their origins in Southern Europe over 500 years ago. In this mini-workshop we will cover basic 'resist' painting at the same time enjoying non-steam simplicity. No messy fixatives or chemicals. Our Liquid Radiance is heat set using a household iron!
Wed 21 April - "Fabulous Fabrics: Beyond the Basics" - 10 am till 4 pm
This is your opportunity to explore a huge range of skills, from Discharge Dyeing (Bleaching techniques) to Traditional Batik (using the simplicity and safety of soy wax to create all the effects of the traditional - more complicated - waxes). We'll play with Water Soluble Resist for amazing, individual effects; and create stunning fabrics using poles and marbles, and other household things.
